HOW TO START MESHING ??? TECHNIQUES AND FEATURES

 Hello Guys,

In the previous one we have discussed mainly, the types of meshing in today's blog we will understand how to mesh and what should be done while meshing to improve the quality of the mesh and have an accurate result... so let's go

There are various points that should one remember while carrying meshing which we are going to discuss...

1. Spend sufficient time studying geometry:

For carrying out the meshing in a good way we have to study geometry properly. Most of the time it is observed that most of the CAE engineers directly do to meshing job. That's the biggest mistake I have done in the past when I directly go with the meshing. Here is an imp step to understand the curvatures and other things of the geometry by which we can apply the options like proximity and curvature and also we can decide the element types by which.

2. Time:

Nowadays it is very important to look at the clock. because it is very important according to the boss's and client's point of view. If the new person is carrying out meshing on the parts he will take more time than the experience one. This problem can solve by giving the same geometry to the experienced person

3.Geometry check:

In this, the geometry file is provided by the CAD engineer to the CAE engineer in the IGES format which the ground level format for all the CAD and CAE engineers. CAE engineer at least have the basic knowledge of the CAD geometries to check the

1) Free edges  2) Scare lines  3) Duplicate surfaces  4)Small hole, Fillets  5) Bends

These things can be a very big problem while meshing if the CAE engineer can't solve this at the beginning

Fun Fact: If all these things are not required so why the CAD engineer did not provide the data as per the CAE engineer?

Yes, it is an ideal situation when we have our simulation company but in manufacturing industries, the CAD model or drawings are presented as a final drawing to the CAE engineer to the quality and other departments as well so to avoid confusion and other things. And simplification required is more understandable by the CAE engineer rather than the CAD engineer and the most imp part the usually the CAD software fails in terms of simplifying the geometry

4. Symmetry check:

Symmetry check is an important method by which we can avoid the waste of time. The CAE engineer must check if the particular geometry can be done with the help of symmetry. Most of the time the circular bodies are converted to the quarter part if the force is acting is constant throughout the surface.

5. Selection of type of element:

In real life, as we discussed in the previous blog we have 3 types of elements, so according to this, we need to identify the types of elements that are required for the particular geometry.

6. Types of meshing:

This is the most important point in which we have the two types

1. Geometry based meshing

2. FE type meshing

1. Geometry based meshing:

Mesh is associated with the geometry, as the geometry gets to change the mesh also update. In this type, the boundary condition applied to the surface of the body...

2. FE type meshing:

Mesh is non-associative, the BC applied on the nodes of the mesh according to need

7. Joint modeling:

In this type, the assembly and the features like the contact bodies and the bolt are considered, etc.

So, guys, this is some important techniques that need to be followed while meshing.
